What the buyer sees

Verification runs after checkout, not in front of it. Here is the whole flow.

  1. Checkout completes firstThe order is placed and paid. Only then is the buyer prompted, and only if the order matches the rules the merchant set. Everything else goes straight through.
  2. The buyer photographs a government issued IDNo account to create, no document emailed to anybody, no phone call.
  3. The name and address are read and comparedThe system reads the document and compares it against the shipping address on the order. In the ordinary case nobody reviews anything by hand.
  4. A match releases the order. A mismatch is the buyer’s to fixIf the addresses differ, the buyer can update the order to match the document or supply a secondary proof of address. The merchant decides the outcome in every case.
Results are advisory. The merchant sets the rules that decide which orders are checked, and decides what happens to every order. Orders outside those rules are never touched.
